| The Benefits |
Between Friends, Aboriginal Clothing & Book Drive is a vital initiative making a real difference across Ontario. The Drive’s impact is far reaching on many people including:
- The Aboriginal communities. Helps parents/caretakers meet their children’s immediate need for clothing, books, toys and games - all vital to a child’s development. Enables impacted families to invest their limited resources elsewhere and links local communities with those in the north.
- Children. Teaches them about the importance of charity. Fosters their sense of social responsibility and compassion for others. Encourages cooperation and organization to prove that hard work can be highly rewarding.
- Childcare staff and volunteers. Strengthens the curriculum. Provides an opportunity to educate the children about the First Peoples of Canada. Enables staff and volunteers to act as positive role models.
- Community at large. Promotes environmental responsibility by encouraging recycling and reusing. Promotes a sense of social responsibility to assist others. Extends our notion of community. Fosters partnerships and linkages.
- Growing list of supporters. Students, parents/caretakers, teachers, foundations and corporations donate their time and resources to ensure the Drive’s success.
